What are you doing to lose weight? How are you doing it? Whats the trick? What is your secret? These are questions that people often ask me when they realize that I have lost 81 pounds. To be honest there are really several different things I have done to lose weight and to bring me where I am now. However, the main thing, the most important thing and the thing most often forgotten to do is the one thing that really truley keeps me going...My big secret is PRAYER! Honestley, I go to God and ask him for his help and for his strength.
* Originally when I first started losing weight I really didn't even know why I was because I was not trying. After doing some research, I realized that I had diabetes. At this point I was just kinda like whatever, this is cool, I am losing weight and I am not even trying. Then I decided to really start trying. So I started doing all kinds of different diets: Atkins, South Beach, Slim-fast...etc. AND they were all working but the problem was that the diets wern't reality lifestyles!!! The beginning of this summer I just got sooooo sick and tired of Atkins-I thought man there is NO waaaay I am going to be able to do this for the rest of my life. So i stopped doing it. While I was off of it I gained about 10 pounds back. When I realized this I was like NO!!! I am not going to go back to where I came from!!! I knew I had to do something, but WHAT?!?! There are sooooooo many diets out there, but what was right for me? What did God want for me? So I asked him. I really, really prayed about it! About two weeks later a friend at my church came to me and started talking about how she was going to join Weight Watchers again and this time she was going to start going to the meetings. And I was just kind of sitting there like; yeah, yeah, thats great, I am soooooooooooooo happy for you!!! Then all of the sudden it was kinda like got nudged me like HELLO! You asked; maybe you should join Weight Watchers too! So I did! AND I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE IT!!! Weight Watchers isn't really a DIET!!! You eat what you like just not AS much as you like. I joined Weight Watchers in August and have lost 18 pounds since then. It may be a slower process, but its the right thing for me. I have NO doubt in my mind that God let me to it. No I am not perfect. Sometimes I have bad days, or even bad weeks. Sometimes I gain-but I am NOT about to give up. Just because you mess up doesn't mean you give up altogether. You pick up where you left off and keep going!!! When I start doing bad I pray! I ask God to help me make right choices and to have temperence.
